Social stars is an opportunity for a small group of children to work with an adult to enhance their social skills. The intervention occurs 3 x per week for 30 minutes during lunch and provides the children with the chance to play games with each other, improving their social communication skills and developing friendships. The activities are creative and fun! A safe environment is created where children are provided with the opportunity to discuss their feelings and identify any problems they may be having in school. Children work on solving these problems together so that they are able to apply these skills if they were to encounter similar situations themselves. The aim of social stars is for all children to have fun and be happy in school.
